Methods are reusable thinking frameworks that influence how a twin approaches a problem.
They can include:
Established frameworks (e.g. JTBD, Kano Model, SWOT, Porter’s Five Forces)
Research and analysis approaches (e.g. Journey Mapping, Affinity Mapping)
Lightweight internal guidelines or heuristics
Methods are defined individually for each organization or team and reflect your specific workflows and ways of thinking.
When applied in an interview:
Methods influence how a twin analyzes context and forms its response
They are added as part of the system context
They act as a toolset the twin can draw from when answering
If multiple methods are selected, they are considered together as a pool of available approaches.
A twin may apply one, multiple, or none explicitly — depending on what is most relevant to the question.
Example: A twin is asked to evaluate a new product idea, using the methods ”JTBD” and ”Kano Model” → the response may focus on customer needs, expected vs. delight features, and structured evaluation criteria.
Use methods when you want to:
Structure responses using proven frameworks
Encourage more analytical or strategic thinking
Guide how problems are broken down and evaluated
Reduce “generic” answers by applying specific approaches
You can explore all available methods in the Method Gallery.
Click the Method icon in the main navigation
Browse available methods in the gallery
Methods are organized into collections, making it easy to explore related frameworks.
You can also use search to quickly find specific methods.
You can directly use methods while exploring the gallery:
Select one or more methods by clicking on them
Click Start Interview in the top right
Continue configuring your interview in the setup dialog
You can apply multiple methods at the same time.
They act as a shared pool of approaches the twin can draw from, helping generate richer and more structured responses.
